My Hawaiian Vacation (and the Zee wedding) - Part 3

Day 4 – Saturday
Dadadadadamn.  It’s now wedding day, but the event won’t start til about 4:30pm, so it was time to go to the beach and get the drank on for a lil bit.  During the day, some of us took in a little surfing.  That was my first go at it & I’d say I’m a fan of it.  There’s a lot of waiting if you’re trying to catch a sicc wave far out.  We tried that for a little bit, but then came in to catch some smaller waves, which worked out well for me.  I was able to stand pretty good and do some minor turning by the end of the day.  Success.  Doc has a badass camera, check it out.

Here’s a pic of Big Al in the background.  Yes, that’s actually him.  I’m not sure what happened to him though.  I think he actually turned back after swimming 15 feet into the water.  I didn’t see him at all for the next hour.

After surfing, it was time to knock back a few drinks in preparation for the wedding.  Here are a pic from the wedding.  It really solidified hiram’s Buddhist background (more pics to follow to show this).

There were also dragons during the ceremony (more pics to follow).  Another first for me…good shit.

After the ceremony, it was time for the afterparty sans hiram.  we first went to Scruples where some weird shit happened.  I’m going to leave out all names.  This has already been discussed amongst the people involved, but we’ll leave the rest of the world out of it.  Sorry.  Even if I get wasted, I won’t tell u until we get to the bottom of this.

Person A started to dance slash freak Girl A on the dance floor.  Some in attendance thought the girl looked old.  I didn’t think she did, & I didn’t think twice about it.  One person remarked that if an asian girl looks old, she’s really really old.  Person B went to Person A for a second to say what’s up, and Girl A noticed that they were friends.  Girl A then grabbed her friend, Girl B, to dance with Person B.  Person B started groovin’ & took up wingman duties without hesitation.  Apparently Girl B was not from around these parts, because four languages were spat at her & none got a response.  All 4 then sat down to do some shots.  That went well, but then Girl B was about to go.  On her way out, she made out with Person A.  No worries to Person B or the rest of the group…just surprising.  This was all done in front of Girl A & that was not a problem for her either.  Most of the wedding group bailed shortly thereafter, although a few stayed behind to kick it longer.  After a while, Person A got up and damn near sprinted to the door.  He promptly called Person B to tell him that he was outside now.  No worries, it was time to move on to a new bar.  Person A perhaps gave up on a non-english speaking, maybe older Girl A.

Some of us reconvened after these events to continue barhopping.  Some of us went to Nashville of Hawaii, which turned out to be a huge western, navy bar.  I don’t think they really like kama’aina there.  It was a white dominated bar if memory serves correctly.  After a few more bars it was Zippy’s time.

Zippy’s is definitely the king of chili (bean free biatch).  We got 2 lbs of chili, a bucket of chicken, and 2 great big strawberry shortcake things surrounded by glazed donuts. God, it was glorious.  While there, some of us met two older ladies that promptly sat down with us.  It was about 4.30am and they had to go to the airport in about 45 minutes.  For some odd reason, numbers were exchanged and everybody went their separate ways.  Everybody passed out at about 5.30am, but phones started ringing from 6.15-6.20am.  Zippy’s girl was placing calls of the booty nature.  I’m sure all phone recipients were glad they passed out & nobody answered their phones.  Many missed calls were found in the morning though.
